Homeplug
Powerline Technology Conference San Francisco, 4-5 October 2006
In
September 2005, the digital revolution was well established throughout households
across the globe. Flat-panel TVs, DVD recorders, PVRs, and network-enabled game
consoles were becoming commonplace. However the technologies for connecting
these devices were lagging far behind. They fell short on providing the bandwidth,
coverage, and ease-of-set-up required to allow these devices to deliver their
full potential.
The founders of Gigle set about developing a solution that would reliably deliver
high-definition content and services anywhere in the home over the existing
wiring. – powerline, coax and phone line. Affordability and ease-of-use
were then, and remain today, key drivers of the vision.
Multinational
from day one, Gigle has assembled a team spanning two continents with R&D
centers in Barcelona, Spain and Edinburgh, UK, and it’s sales and marketing
office in Redwood City, California.
In July of 2006, Gigle Semiconductor was recognized as one of the “Top
Ten New Startups” by the online networking industry site, Light Reading.
